Bye, Bye Bronze

I've posted about my love for Bobbi Brown make-up before, and my need to slowly replace my hodge podge of random drug store make-up with new stuff that I love; and last week I made some more progress. (I don't mean to say drug store make-up isn't great, I will always have Target make-up that I love).

Recently, I ran out of my bronzer and decided I didn't want to go that route again. After looking at myself, I realized my bronzer was too dark, and un-natural looking, so I headed to Bobbi counter last week to find something new.

I was pretty sure I wanted to get a new Shimmer Brick, which I've always loved. It had been about a year since my last one had run out, but that was the dark bronze color. After using my sister's neutral shimmer brick over Christmas I decided to purchase one in "beige" shown below. On my fair and currently un-tanned skin, this shade looks so much better on me. It's just a hint of light bronze that illuminates. I'm absolutely in love with it.

While at the counter I of course found something else too! I'd been unhappy with my powder blush for awhile, and had been meaning to try a cream blush in either a pot or a stick. I found Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks in Calypso Coral, and it is beautiful. It's a pretty pink shade that brightens up my face and blends into my skin well without just sitting on top. I then brush on my shimmer brick over the top. I absolutely love the effect. It can also be used as like a lip stain, and looks great with a clear gloss on top. The photo below shows the product, but not the color I purchased. It's so nice to have 2 new make-up products that I love. It makes doing my make-up fun again, rather than something that's a chore, and I'm really happy with how these two products work together.
