Golden Globes 2010

What can I say, I love a good award show, and the Golden Globes are usually my favorite because of the mix of TV and movie awards. I was so excited to see what Ricky Gervais would do as host, and I think he did a great job overall. CAhusband and I are pretty big fans of his, and he definitely had us laughing out loud a few times. I was also really anxious to see who would take home the big awards. There were so many award worth shows and movies this year, and I was excited to see who would actually leave with the globe.

IMO, the Television categories were extremely tough to judge. Between all of the great shows on Showtime and HBO, the new hits like Modern Family and GLEE, and old standbys like The Office- I was rooting for everyone to win! I don’t know how they ever decided.

Movies were a little difficult for me to judge because as much as I wanted to see almost every movie nominated, I had only seen Julie and Julia, The Hangover, and UP. After watching the Golden Globes last night, I’m making a list of the movies that I missed out on and really need to see. Luckily, quite a few of them are still in theaters…
  • Avatar
  • Precious
  • Up in the Air
  • The Blind Side
  • It’s Complicated
  • Nine
  • 500 Days of Summer
  • Sherlock Holmes
  • Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
The Red Carpet is usually my favorite part, but I'm not gonna lie, I thought it was pretty boring last night. Maybe it was the rain and the umbrellas used as accessories, but no one really impressed me too much.

Penelope Cruz

If I had to pick one red carpet look that I loved, I think it would be this Giorgio Armani Privé black lace gown. I love myself a mermaid style dress, and always think Penelope looks great.

Mariah Carey
One website I read put it best when they said, "put your globes away Mariah!"
Everything she wears is way too tight.

Jennifer Aniston

I love Jennifer Aniston, but this dress really isn't anything too special, although I think she looks great.
Holy cow though, look at that slit all the way up her thigh.... jeez!

Drew Barrymore
I must say that I hate this Versace gown. Maybe it's the nude color that blends in with her skin, or the gigantic poof on her right hip, but the whole look just isn't working for me!

Overall, I wasn't too impressed with the fashion. What did you think?

2 things...
1. Go see The Blind Side. GREAT movie.
2. I heard 500 Days of Summer was a disappointment.

That is all. :)
