A few years ago J.Crew released jellies in flat form in super bright primary colors. Although intrigued, I never bought any because I just couldn't wrap my head around it. Last year, I noticed Tory Burch was making the coveted Reva's in jelly form too, but I still couldn't quite jump on the jelly flats bandwagon.
Well, this year, after falling in love with my "regular" Reva's, I'm slightly more interested in the less expensive jelly version for the spring and summer. They come in a few really bright colors that could be fun, but are jelly flats just too weird? Just too sticky for your feet?
Jelly Reva, $95.00
I also noticed that J. Crew released some new jelly flats again this spring. They come in 6 or 7 different colors that are fun and vibrant for spring, and have a little bow (you know I love the bow). Again though, I'm torn, are they cute or just weird?
Rainy Day Ballet Flats, J.Crew $55.00
Overall, I'm thinking they'll be a pass for me. Even if I decide they're cute, the 110+++ heat we'll have here come the end of May has me running from anything the encloses my foot in rubber.
Have you ever tried jelly flats? Do you love or hate them?

I am sort of wondering the same thing, because those revas definitely look cute!
Love the Revas in that color. Too cute! But unfortunately, I think I will be passing on the jellies trend. While I loved my jellies as a child, I do remember them getting super sweaty and gross. Maybe it was just my feet that were the problem but after a few wears they were pretty yucky :(
good thing we ordered the j.crew dress, it looks like the pink color is sold out in a few sizes, mine included :) i hope it's as cute as it looks online!
oh i think they are really really really cute, but i bet they give HORRIBLE blisters - i DEFINITELY remember that from when i was little!
ha, i was going to say the same thing as alanna ... all i remember is that after the first like 2 times, my mom refused to let me wear my jellies again because of the ENORMOUS blisters all over my feet. i say pass on that trend...
The jellies I remember when we were little were the woven ones that let your feet breath thus not making your feet sweaty. The ones above (even with the 3 little vent holes on the inside of the shoe) definitely look like they would make for a sweaty sticky mess which may then lead to some painful blisters.
JELLY SANDALS. Oh man, what a blast from the past. I'm with Miss Molly--I totally rocked those woven kind, the ones you got for like 5.99 at Payless.
Love your blog!
