5 Friday Faves

This week was busy and a little hectic, so I'm thrilled that the weekend is finally here! We literally have NOTHING planned for the whole weekend and I can't wait to do some reading, take a big nap, and maybe watch a movie or two.

Here are 5 of my favorite things this week...

1. It's a 10 Miracle Leave-In
My hair dresser has used this stuff on my hair forever, and I finally bought some a few weeks ago.  It smells so good, is an excellent detangler, and helps give the perfect blow dry.  I highly recommend it!

I've had a white pair of J.Crew Matchstick jeans for a few years, and they just never seem to do it for me.  I wanted a long, non-skinny pair to wear with my wedges this spring, and this GAP pair is perfection.  I ordered them in a tall and had them hemmed because their regulars are always just a tad too short.  I can already tell I'm going to wear the heck out of these jeans this summer.

3. Teacher Appreciation Week
All kidding aside, I loved a week full of little notes and goodies from my kiddos and their parents.  Today we're finishing off the week with a happy hour at our fave wine bar hosted by our Headmaster.  It was a wonderful week full of appreciative students.

4. Pulp Stone Bracelets from Anthropologie
After seeing the May cover of the Anthropologie catalog, I just had to snag a few of these bracelets.  I don't typically wear them together, but I've been getting loads of compliments on them and love the color they add to any outfits.  Now I just need to add a few dozen more bracelets and I'll have the look completely. ; )

5.  Less Than 20 Days Left
There is a light at the end of the tunnel!  We currently have 19 days of school left and I am ecstatic.
Hurry up summer vacation.

A Visit from C & C: Stagecoach

Stagecoach is a 3-day country music festival here in the desert, and it was the perfect excuse for Charlie and Christina (VAbelle) to come visit us.  I'm not even a huge country music fan, but this festival is all around fantastic!

After a long day of wine tasting in Temecula, we didn't make it to Stagecoach until pretty late on Friday night.  We saw Jason Aldean and he put on a great show, but we didn't manage to get any pictures!

Saturday we enjoyed the day soaking in the pool and made it to Stagecoach in time for Luke Bryan.  I wasn't really familiar with him or his music (I must have been living under a rock), and I am now completely obsessed.  He put on a wonderful show and I am now playing Drunk On You on repeat.   It's the perfect summer-time jam!

After Luke Bryan we saw Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert perform, and they were both wonderful.  Blake Shelton performing My Prerogative was another highlight of the night.

Pardon the late night drunk and sweaty photo, but this picture is too funny (and classic Stagecoach) not to share. CAhusband has decided that this should be our 2012 Christmas card photo!  What do you think?

The people watching at Stagecoach is by far the best I have ever experienced.  I have never seen so many girls in bikinis and cowboy boots covered in absolutely hideous tattoos in my entire life.

Sunday night we made it to Stagecoach to see Martina McBride, Sheryl Crow, and Brad Paisley.    It was another wonderful night, but was a little more tame as CAhusband and I had to be up for work bright and early the next morning.

If you live in southern California, you absolutely must check out Stagecoach next year!  Having been 2 years in a row I must say that it is one of my favorite weekends of the year.  I went through serious withdrawals after it was over, and already can't wait for a weekend full of country music again next April!

It was the perfect excuse for C & C to visit, and I think they had a wonderful time.
We already can't wait to see them again when we visit them in DC this July!

A Visit from C & C: Temecula

CAhusband's brother and his wife Christina (VAbelle) came to visit us recently, and I can't even express what a wonderful time we had spending the long weekend with them.  We have such a great time everytime we're together, and we feel really blessed to have family that we also consider to be great friends.

Their visit was mainly focused around Stagecoach, but we also squeezed in a day trip to Temecula for a little wine tasting!  To avoid major picture overload, this post will just focus on our Temecula trip!

CAhusband and I decided to take the Friday off of work, which made for a perfect day to head to Temecula.  We had perfect weather and had an all around wonderful day together.

Our first stop of the day was at Callaway Winery.  Although we'd had a great experience there one prior time, it definitely wasn't a highlight of our trip.  The scenery is beautiful though, which allowed for some great pictures.

Next we headed to South Coast Winery.  We'd never been to South Coast before and were all extremely impressed.  They were VERY generous with their pours and gave several extra tastings.  We loved so many of their wines, and will definitely be visiting this new favorite again!

After South Coast we headed to Ponte for lunch.  This is our favorite lunch spot in Temecula and never disappoints.  Although we never manage to do a wine tasting here, we love the beautiful scenery and yummy food!

After leaving Ponte we headed to Leonesse Cellars, which was our last stop for the day.  We decided to just split a bottle and enjoy the scenery outside rather than doing a tasting, and it was the perfect way to finish our day.

Temecula is always one of our favorite places to take visitors, and it definitely didn't disappoint during our most recent visit!

Next up... Stagecoach!
